[ there had been a mission out in a town surrounded by woods. these days, with nature taking back what belonged to it before humans had managed, it was hard to travel through anything rural. roads out that way had begun to become non-existent, and the only people who went into the woods were people who went to hide.

mikaela is the one who draws the short straw, and is the one sent to crawl through those woods to see if any wayward children had heard their chopper and fled. ---what he finds, however, is -- a cute black dog with big green eyes. when he leans down to pet it, it---

maintaining this--half-form is really exhausting, he's not even used to talking, let alone using limbs like this. so it's not long before he's--fully shifting back into a dog, and flopping over onto mika.

but he doesn't let go of the grip he's got on mika with his teeth. ]

[ it hurts, and he hasn't eaten in a few days. it makes --- regenerating hard, so he just lays there for awhile with this stupid dog latched into him. ]

he'll call this a success. and do his best to rest without sleeping. ]

[ yeah but what if he takes that moment to

just fucking throw the dog and then book it into the forest ]

[ he'll find a nice fucking camp set up somewhere deep in the forest--mildly full of kids.

and hear the soft pitter-patter of dogpaws hitting the ground at a surprisingly fast speed as he chases after mika. ]

[ he made finding himself easy, with the trail of blood that he'd left. he isn't healing the larger wounds --- and he knows it, and he knows it's because he's hungry but he --- ....they're kids. this is gross. why was he sent on this mission... ]

[ at the very least, mika's injured, and very easy to find. yuu's pushed himself into overdrive, body already shifted fully human once more by the time he reaches mika, hand extended out to grab onto the hem of his shirt. ]

Stop-- y-you can. . you can eat me if you want, just don't--
