[ there had been a mission out in a town surrounded by woods. these days, with nature taking back what belonged to it before humans had managed, it was hard to travel through anything rural. roads out that way had begun to become non-existent, and the only people who went into the woods were people who went to hide.

mikaela is the one who draws the short straw, and is the one sent to crawl through those woods to see if any wayward children had heard their chopper and fled. ---what he finds, however, is -- a cute black dog with big green eyes. when he leans down to pet it, it---

[ teeth latch tight onto mika's hand--but they're blunt, still. not sharp enough to cause too much pain.

not that it stops him from growling angrily, tail puffing up in fear. ]

[ he tugs back on his hand, trying to pull away ]

[ his teeth dig in harder, hind legs pushing back to pull mika forward with a loud growl. ]

Ow, stop--!!

[ pulls his hand back harder---!! ]

[ it stops--but only due to his form shifting, snout becoming shorter, more human. he's not very good at it, not like this, but-- ]

This's my area, bloodsucker!!

[ ---oh. it's a werewolf -- he'd heard of them, but he hadn't met with any. the bite marks on his hand heal soon enough, and mika stands up straight. ]

I didn't come here for you. Settle down.

I know you didn't! This's my area. You can't have anything in it. It's all mine!

What would you do with humans?

[culpa]

[ he sits back a bit, shaking his hrad until the fur resides, stretches out an arm to fully form proper, human bones. it's--taking much longer than it should have to, his body stuck half between one and the other. but he doesn't. look too bothered by it. ]

What do you want with them?!

[befouled]

That should be obvious.

They're in my area. My turf. So if you want to get to them, you--you gotta go through me.

[ he'll just use vampire speed, then. ]

[ he might not be as fast, but he can fucking--do his best. he's already in front of mika, so yuu just--makes sure to get right in his way, arms opening to grab onto mika and dig his nails into the other's waist, biting into flesh enough to rip it off while his teeth dig into mika's leg. ]
