[ It figures that it would be the one time they actually need to be going somewhere in a timely manner that everything starts working against them. Granted, Shiro is more than used to things not going according to plan, ever, in his entire life, but -- this is simultaneously less catastrophic and more exasperating than most things that go wrong.
Shiro hits the "door open" button on the elevator again, helplessly. ]
[ the elevator stopping is ... a little more than annoying. they were off to do something important, and with the issue of their punctuality at hand ... he can't just stand by and let that happen.
with little fanfare, he walks over towards the elevator's control panel, prying it off and grasping his chin in thought. ]
Can you fix it? [ Shiro is experienced with many things, but most of them involve technology that's seventy years out of date, or theoreticals involving the slate and magic... none of which actually help him in this specific situation.
The last time he practically applied one of his theories, a mouse died.
He squints at the wires and electrical components inside the elevator panel regardless. It looks deceptively simple, but... ]
Ah, at least if we abruptly fall, I can stop us...
[ Compared to floating a blimp around, an elevator is easy. ]
[ a pain ... they're going to be late after all. he starts to think, in the back of his mind, what he can do to make for their rudeness to who they were on their way to visit. ]
Hmm. [ Shiro makes a considering noise, looking from the panel to the rest of the elevator as though there might be some clue on how to magically make the elevator work again. If they were part of the green clan, maybe...! ]
You know, in the movies, they always climb out of the ceiling panels and then pry doors open! [ This is a) a terrible idea, b) the WORST idea, and c) honestly, not that unusual for Shiro. ]
Is there property damage? I thought you could just climb up! You could just use your... pchoo. [ That's the sound effect that accompanies Shiro gesturing his hand in a vague imitation of Kuroh's sticky hand power. ]
[ more downtime means a whole world of time for more get-togethers. munakata still feel particularly Bad about what had happened during their last encounter. that is why, this holiday season, munakata hosts an ugly sweater party - and the silvers are invited. in particular, he gifts a thin, rectangular box to him. ]
[ he truly hadn't expected to be given anything at this party, let alone by the host of it. taking the box, he looks down at it for a moment before giving a thankful nod. ]
Thank you.
[ he carefully undoes the ribbons, setting them aside because what if he needs them later? and taking the top off of the box. ]
Fufu. Does that surprise you, Yatogami-kun? Taking into account how we had last left off, I thought it was appropriate to repair the chemistry we shared that night at the stadium.
[ not even thinking about how strange that sounded, but he's earnest, at least, in wanting to mend their acquaintanceship. munakata can't say he would have done anything different were time to reverse, however.
he watches closely as yatogami undoes the ribbon and opens the box. truthfully, munakata is not a knitting man, but he has prepared this sweater months before wrapping the item up. the thing is, it's been some five weeks since he had wrapped it. that is why, when the younger man open the box and sees the sweater neatly folded inside, it will also surprise munakata. ]
H'oh... that is not as black dog as I remember. [ he's not embarrassed, though?! if anything, he seems equally amused at his own lack of talent in the art department. ]
[ What else can he say about this? He appreciates the effort Munakata has gone to, in order to make an apology for what had unfolded at the stadium, and he doesn't ... want to insult the sweater, but... it's...
...it's not a good sweater. ]
kuroh and sen get caught up in a storm and must stay sheltered together until it passes.
[ sen doesn't mind the storm--she's experienced worst before, on board shaking airships flying past storm clouds and more. but this one is too heavy and too dark to move safely in on their way back to the city and that's why they've settled down under a conveniently-placed rundown gazebo in the middle of nowhere. there's some tombstones near by, so it might even be haunted.
she sneezes as she wrings water out of her tail and then her skirt, inadvertently lifting it up as she does so. ]
I thought it wasn't supposed to rain! [ she's sulking a little as she speaks in a mild hiss--that's what the weather forecast said!! why is the forecast wrong!!! ]
[ It does put a damper on their plans, and having to switch up schedule at the last minute is ... annoying, but Sen didn't do anything wrong, so why get mad at her...?
He'd used his jacket as an umbrella, bringing it down and wringing it out, setting it to the side in a way that promotes the most even drying!! ]
[ the storm is hard enough to fall inside the gazebo, leaving very little space for them to stand and not actually be drenched by the falling rain. the little debris left is wet--not very conducive to making a fire despite her magic.
once she's done settling herself and the grooming can be done automatically without her having to pay attention, sen turns her eyes upwards towards the dark sky, squinting as she tries to read the clouds (not her forte, but she's been learning!). ]
...I think it may be a while. [ she huffs, but-- ]
Kuroh and Shiro get stuck in an elevator together.

Ah ... I think we're going to be late.

No. It looks to be a localized power outage.

Shiro, do you have any idea how dirty those vents are?
no subject
[ Like, ignoring how gross it'd be for the duration of the climb, or the chances of the power coming back and completely crushing them to death.
Well. Crushing Kuroh to death. Shiro wouldn't die. He's actually not sure what would happen -- would he break the whole elevator? ]
no subject
[ what if they broke something? thats even ruder than being late.
at least the control panel was easy to gently put back on ]

Anyway, that wouldn't work?

It's worth trying.

... which one of the panels opens to the ceiling, do you think?

It's hard to tell, without knowing the elevator's model.
munakata knits an ugly sweater and forces kuroh to wear it.
Go on, Yatogami-kun. Please open it.
